Interscholastic Teams

Sarasota Middle School Interscholastic teams compete with all of the other middle schools in Sarasota County. 7th and 8th graders who meet the following requirements are eligible to try out for the teams listed below. We do not travel outside of our county.

Sports Available

Last week of August through first week of October

· Golf – boys and girls on the same team

· Tennis – A boys team and a girls team

· Volleyball – A girls team only

Requirements

• 2.0 or higher Grade Point Average
• Physical/athletic screening dated after May 15, 2008 (one physical/screening is good for all sports seasons)
• The Parent/Guardian Release and Hold Harmless Agreement Form completed and notarized.
• The parent/guardian must initial each sport for which the student intends to try out.
• All forms completed and returned to Coach Patella before try out date.
• Student must be younger than 15 years and 9 months.
